CorkShare is a site where you can make virtual CorkBoards, and share them with your friends! Each CorkBoard is an online space where videos, photos, links, notes, and more can be posted and interacted with.
Group CorkBoards are the best part about CorkShare. You can invite your friends to be "members" to your CorkBoard so that they can post stuff too! Create as many Groups as you want - for each of your interests and each group of people in your life.
Keep track of the updates of your favorite boards from across CorkShare by "following" them. CorkShare makes it fun and simple to share relevant web content with the right group of people!
There are four main links in CorkShare that you can access from the top of every webpage, as well as a search bar. (1) Home, (2) Profile, (3) Friends, (4) Groups.
The Home link is where you get all the updates of your Friends and Groups you follow, as well as explore the posts from everyone across the CorkShare site. It is arranged similarly to a news feed where the newest updates go on top. As you keep getting newer updates, the old ones get pushed down.
The Profile link takes you to your personal profile CorkBoard.
The Friends link is where you can see who all your friends are! If you are both following each other, you are considered friends. You can also see who you are following, and people who are following you. Follow them back to become friends!
The Groups link is where you can see all the Group boards you've created, are a member of, and are following. Go there to quickly access all your different Group CorkBoards, or to create a new one.
Use the search bar to search for Friends and Groups across the CorkShare website.
The Inbox contains your requests and updates. Requests include invitations to be a member, requests for membership, and requests to follow your private CorkBoards, that you can choose to accept or decline. Updates include new comments on one of your posts, someone new is following one of your CorkBoards, and other notifications.
The chat bubble is the Updates Icon. It lights up when you have new followers, new comments, etc. Click it to check them out (and turn off the light)!
Settings gives you control over your privacy, account information, and notifications. Edit your biography, change your profile picture, choose which e-mails you get from CorkShare, and more.
The Home page shows all the newest posts from CorkBoards that you are following. Following means you have chosen to get updates of the new web content posted on that CorkBoard. The main panel is arranged in a "stream" where the newest updates go on top. As you keep getting newer updates, the old ones get pushed down.
You can filter your Home stream based on Everyone (all the posts across CorkShare.com) and My Network (all the Friends and Groups that you follow or are a member of).
To receive updates from a CorkBoard, choose to "follow" it. Following means you have chosen to get updates of the new web content posted on that CorkBoard. Type in a Description. This is the explanation of what your CorkBoard is about. Keep it short, but be specific so users will know whether they should get your updates!

You can search for any user on CorkShare and invite them with the big search box. If you can't find your friends, regardless of whether they are on CorkShare or not, invite them based on e-mail address by clicking the "Invite via Email" tab.
CorkBoards consist of web content objects that you can drag around, resize, and bring to the front or push backwards. To see comments or make a comment, click the "# Comments" link in the top right of any object. To delete or archive an object, click the gear icon on the top right of any object.

In the field, type in the username or display name of the people you want to add as members. The text field will automatically search for the person as you type. When you find the person you would like to add, click them and select "Add Member". If you can't find your friends,
To edit the Name, Display Name, and other characteristics of board, select "Edit Settings" above the board. (Don't confuse this with Settings which is all the way at the top of the site and lets you change your account settings! For the board settings, choose "Edit Settings"!!!). When you are done making changes, select "Update" at the bottom of the pop-up.
To see who is following a CorkBoard or who is a member, select the "# followers" link or "# members" link on the left side panel of a CorkBoard.
Friends and Groups are both types of CorkBoards. However, Friends are user profiles - you can follow them, but they don't have members. Only you can add content to your own profile. Groups can be followed too, but they can have members - so that many users can post on the same CorkBoard. Groups are a place for collaboration, whereas your profile is just a place for you to shine!
If you are both following each other, you are considered friends. If you follow someone, you will get their updates but they must follow you back to become friends. If someone follows you, follow them back to become friends!
